Two types of entries are deliberate and dynamic. Tactical officers should be able to employ techniques when the situation arises. The clearing team must work together for a successful operation. An officer must be able to pay attention to details and trust the training obtained for their own safety and the safety on the rest of the team. Officer should focus on actions taken, by maintaining this focus, the officer become more effective in controlling the situation.
A mindset of complete domination must be maintained throughout any building clearing operation. When deadly force is used, the team must effectively eliminate the threat as quickly as possible with accurate and surgical precision. A search must be quick and identify any possible treats. Simple technique is for “One covers and the other searches”.
The course includes, fundamentals of marksmanship, equipment selection, safety, reloads (tactical & speed), and malfunctions. The course progresses into use of cover, increasing proficiency at close ranges, tactical engagement of targets, raising the accuracy level and tactical handling of weapon, turns, shooting on the move, shooting from awkward positions, slicing the pie, shooting at moving targets, distance shooting (max 20yds).
